The purpose is to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for how we handle actual and potential negative impacts of our own operations, supply chain, and customers related to:
- Respecting human rights
- Upholding workers’ rights
- Avoiding corruption and bribery
- Preserving the environment
2. Implementation/Guiding documents
We follow the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guidelines for responsible business conduct, along with OECD’s guidance on due diligence. Other references we adhere to include:
• United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP)
• UN’s 10 Principles for Responsible Business
• UN Sustainable Development Goals
3. Autek AS
Autek AS has an office and workshop in Drammen and Tananager that employs 16 people. We mainly provide products, services, and systems for process control to the oil and gas industry. Our products and systems are also supplied to other industries. We are certified by Kiwa for ISO 9001 quality management.
Autek AS acknowledges and works to uphold human rights, workers’ rights, and the environment. We follow the UN’s principles for responsible business, the UN Global Compact, which is based on ten principles covering human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption. These principles are incorporated into our ethical guidelines/Code of Conduct. Our customers and suppliers, including subcontractors, are expected to acknowledge and work according to these principles.
4. Supply Chain
We have established suppliers primarily from EU countries such as Italy, Netherland, Beligum, France, Germany, and England, as well as the United States and Australia outside the EU. We require our suppliers to adhere to the UN’s principles for responsible business. The suppliers are responsible for monitoring their subcontractors, especially in terms of choosing countries and subcontractors for critical raw materials (metals).
5. Customers
Our customers are primarily Norwegian industries, especially the Norwegian oil industry on the Norwegian continental shelf, and some deliveries to Norwegian developers operating internationally. Our customers are well-known Norwegian companies that respect human rights and adhere to the UN’s principles of responsible business.

Link | What is measured |
Each year we rate countries depending on their compliance with collective labor rights and document violations by governments and employers of internationally recognized rights | |
The index provides a country-by-country ranking of the number of people in modern slavery, as well as an analysis of the actions governments are taking to respond, and the factors that make people vulnerable.
| |
The index shows the degree of corruption in the country as perceived by business people, academics, and risk analysts.
| |
An index that captures gender imbalances in health, empowerment, and economic activity.
| |
The index measures the level of democracy.
| |
The indicator shows the percentage of women in the total labor market.
| |
The statistics show how well citizens’ civil rights are fulfilled in a country. Examples of civil rights include freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to privacy. |
Both for customers and the supply chain, the countries we operate in have a low risk of human rights violations, decent working conditions, gender equality, and corruption. The United States and Australia score low on workers’ rights.
7. Our impact
We are a relatively small company governed by the requirements and controls of the oil industry. Generally, we have little influence over our customers and our major suppliers. However, industry requirements in the oil sector have an impact, and compliance with human rights, environment, and sustainability is expected.
We assess that there is a low risk of us causing, contributing to, or being directly connected to negative impacts on human rights, labor rights, or corruption.
Our products contribute to oil extraction and CO2 emissions from oil and gas. This has a negative impact on the environment, but society still relies on oil and gas. We work to contribute to the transition to more environmentally friendly energy sources, and we help prevent emissions and accidents by delivering the right products with the right quality tailored to the customers’ needs. Our product service extends their lifespan, reducing CO2 emissions by delaying replacements.
8. Actions
We work to avoid potential negative impacts of our own operations, supply chain, and customers related to respecting human rights, upholding workers’ rights, avoiding corruption and bribery, and take care of our environment.
We will continue to require our suppliers to confirm their adherence to the UN’s principles for responsible business, and we expect our customers to do the same.
We will continue our efforts to contribute to sustainability and environmental care.
We have full transparency about our work to ensure fundamental human rights and decent working conditions, and our Due Diligence Assessment, ethical guidelines, and Code of Conduct are made available on our website.
We conduct an annual assessment of our due diligence using the due diligence compass for responsible business developed by Norway’s National Contact Point for responsible business. In the case of poor results, we take measures to improve.
